Goodweave Highlights Accomplishments in Report
New York, NY, Oct. 10, 2011 -- Goodweave, the organization devoted to ending child labor practices in the overseas rug industry, has released its annual report.
Among the highlights are:
Goodweave reached an estimated 60 million consumers through the One in a Million campaign to end child labor.
The organization educated more than 700 children in weaving communities, giving each freedom and a future.
Goodweave increased its industry membership by 20 percent, in turn generating nearly $100,000 in funds for programs serving exploited children and weaving families.
Goodweave completed a new expansion global strategy – beginning with Afghanistan, where just last month GoodWeave hired its first staff.
