German Floor Coatings Supplier Loba Sees Growth in

Ditzingen, Germany, March 13, 2006--German floor coatings supplier Loba GmbH says it anticipates a 15 to 20 per cent increase in sales throughout the Middle East as an increase in upscale real estate developments drive demand for hi-technology products. Loba, which produces premium parquet coatings, says it now plans to introduce ultraviolet-light floor protection products into the region when it participates in Domotex Middle East, the specialist carpets and flooring trade show to debut in Dubai this May. 'We will be at the show to find new business partners in the region such as dealers and installation teams,' said Ms. Rachel Baumgartner, business economist, Loba GmbH. 'As a booming region the Middle East is in our focus especially as parquet flooring, as a natural product, is becoming more popular in trendy hotels, restaurants, private villas and public buildings. We are particularly eyeing the growth areas of Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and Qatar.' At Domotex Middle East, which runs at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 28-30, Loba is launching its Lobadur WS UV-Protect additive, which prevents the darkening of light coloured wood floors exposed to sunlight and its Lobadur WS 2K Contact, which, the company says, delivers better protection, makes floors easier to clean and is more hygienic. Loba is amongst a host of leading industry names in the carpets and flooring industry exhibiting at Domotex Middle East, which is organised by Deutsche Messe AG Hannover, one of the world's top three trade show organisers. The exhibitor profile also includes Belgium's Balta Industries NV, Miri Iranian Knots, Al Sorayai Carpet Factory of Saudi Arabia, Hassan Maktabi & Sons of Lebanon, Sultaco, the Heritage Group of the UAE, Weitzer from Austria and Hamberger from Germany. The show will also feature national pavilions from The Netherlands and the Benelux. 'Domotex Middle East will be a window to the shape of the industry for the future,' said Susanne Klaproth, director of the Domotex from Deutsche Messe AG. Domotex Middle East is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, President, Department of Civil Aviation, government of Dubai and chairman of the Emirates Group.
