Gerflor Says its Vinyl Equivalent to “Natural”

Atlanta, GA, August 24, 2007—Gerflor said its vinyl flooring is a favorable option to so-called natural floor coverings in terms of its environmental impact during manufacturing.

The company said its vinyl is manufactured using energy efficient processes that exclude all heavy metals and controversial phthalates, the plasticizers used to make the product more flexible. It is used in high-traffic environments such as healthcare, education, corporate and retail spaces around the world.

Gerflor said its vinyl flooring compares well to other floor coverings. It is lighter, making it easier to transport and, unlike  can be easily removed and recycled. It is naturally water-proof and can be hot welded to form a continuous, non-porous surface, which inhibits the growth of disease causing agents.

Gerflor’s said it recycles nearly 100% of its post manufacturing waste.
