Gerflor Floors Produced to ISO 14001 Standards

Chicago, IL, November 6, 2007—Vinyl flooring producer Gerflor said it is using environmentally friendly raw materials, innovative production processes and recycling to reduce environmental damage.

During the production process, Gerflor’s implementation of a closed-loop cooling system reduces water consumption, while production lines treat all emissions prior to release into the air. Gerflor also uses raw materials such as calcium and zinc based stabilizers, as well as water based inks, instead of solvents in its design to reduce ozone depletion. In addition, all of Gerflor’s vinyl floor coverings are 100% recyclable at the end of lifecycle.

In addition, Gerflor said it does not use any ingredients during the manufacturing process that are classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic.
