Georgia-Pacific Names New European, Dixie Presiden

Atlanta, GA, Feb. 12--Georgia-Pacific Corp. today named new presidents of the company's European consumer products business and its Dixie business, a vice president of research and development, a vice president and controller, and a vice president of internal audit. William Schultz, president of the company's Dixie business, was promoted to president--European consumer products, effective immediately. Schultz assumes the position previously held by John Lundgren, who last week accepted the position of chairman and chief executive officer for The Stanley Works. Schultz, 42, will be based at Georgia-Pacific's European headquarters in London. Sean R. Fallmann, 36, vice president and general manager of Dixie's retail business, has been named president--Dixie business. Schultz will report to Correll. Fallmann will report to Michael C. Burandt, executive vice president and president-North American consumer products. Also reporting to Burandt and effective this month, John P. O'Donnell was named president-North American retail business. Previously, O'Donnell, 43, led the company's North American commercial business. O'Donnell, joined Georgia-Pacific in 1985. He has worked in several businesses in the areas of sales, market development, customer service, marketing, operations and operations integration, logistics and quality control, prior to serving as president of the company's commercial business. Burandt and all other North American operating businesses report to Lee M. Thomas, president and chief operating officer. In addition, Frank C. Murray, 53, currently vice president-product development at the company's Neenah Technical Center in Wisconsin, has been promoted to vice president-research and development. He will be responsible for overseeing product and process development at both the Neenah Technical Center and the European Technical Center at Kunheim, France. The company also announced that James E. Terrell, 54, vice president and controller, has elected to retire early, effective July 1, 2004, after 20 years with Georgia-Pacific. He will be succeeded by Robert P. Nelson, 46, vice president-finance, consumer products and packaging. Also effective immediately, Gerald A. Shirk, 46, vice president-finance, building products, has been named vice president of internal audit. Shirk has been with Georgia-Pacific since 1979.
