Georgia-Pacific Buying Canadian Board Plants
Atlanta, GA, Jan. 12, 2010--Georgia-Pacific is buying four compressed board factories from Canada's Grant Forest Products for $400 million, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The products are used in sub-flooring, among other applications.
It's the company's biggest acquisition since it became a unit of Koch Industries in 2005.
Ontario, Canada-based Grant Forest is selling the board factories as part of a bankruptcy reorganization for its Canadian operations.
