Georgia Tech Joins Mission Zero Effort
LaGrange, GA, April 21, 2009--Five months afterlaunching missionzero.org (MZ.org) at Greenbuild, InterfaceFlor is focused on mission Zero for Earth Day with efforts aimed at welcoming new partners, recruiting new members and elevating the sustainability conversation.
MZ.org is an online community created by Interface, Inc. that is not a sales or product vehicle, but rather a place where people can share ideas, gain knowledge and find best practices in a wide range of topic areas centered around environmental issues.
MZ.org has secured the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) as a partner on the site and expects that an increased level of participation from tomorrow’s leaders will lend value to other members and to the students themselves.
Georgia Tech joins other founding partners on MZ.org that include the American Society of Interior Designers, CERES, the International Interior Design Association, Jacques Whitford, Pew Center on Global Climate Change, Subaru of America, The David Suzuki Foundation, United States Green Building Council and World Resources Institute.
Partners provide direct content to MZ.org as well as links to white papers, case studies and other resources found among their own websites. Some have created customized partner pages within the site where their own employees or members can interact in a dedicated forum.
MZ.org pulls content from multiple resources, from news organizations to environmental and policy experts, to user-driven contributions. Content categories are broad based and include Agriculture, Design, Natural Resources, Transportation, Business & Investing, Society & Culture, Policy & Government, Events, and Food, Health & Home.
“We are pleased at the diversity of partners who have joined our mission, from corporate entities to industry associations and organizations dedicated to issues around sustainability,” said Joyce LaValle, senior vice president of marketing for InterfaceFLOR.
“And now with Georgia Tech we not only have the resources of a leading academic institution, we are partnering with Ray Anderson’s alma mater.”
InterfaceFLOR associates will be on-site at numerous Earth Day-related events to spread the word about MZ.org and sign people on to the community.
