Georgia Foam Backing Plant Catches Fire

Lafayette, GA, March 31, 2008--A fire broke out Sunday afternoon at the Quality Cushion plant.

Firefighters said a machine caught fire inside the plant and spread to the inventory.

Lafayette firefighters had to call for backup from neighboring municipalities and they spent several hours on the scene. They were able to contain the four-alarm fire to one section of the building and no one was injured.
