Gentry Hardwood Intros Hybrid, FusionPlank

Fairfield, CA, September 17, 2007-- Gentry Hardwood Floors has introduced FusionPlank solid hybrid flooring system.

It is designed to have the look, feel and wear properties of traditional ¾” solid hardwood floors with the dimensional stability to allow for below grade, concrete slab installations usually reserved for engineered flooring products.

“Never before has the industry had a product like FusionPlank,” said Paul Yau, CEO of Gentry.  “Regardless of whether the application is on, above or below grade, regardless of the sub-floor, FusionPlank can be nailed, glued or float installed with the same results everytime,” he added.

FusionPlank floor planks have two component layers.  The base layer is manufactured from smaller pieces of hardwoods that are finger-jointed then assembled into a solid plank that is dimensionally extremely stable and stringer than a solid piece of wood.  The wear layer, which can be any dimension from 2mm to a full ¼” provides the appearance of a solid floor and allows for more than five sandings.

The wear layer and base layer are permanently fused together using a patented fusing agent. The final finish is Gentry’s advanced ceramic oxide coating.

FusionPlank planks are available in a wide variety of American, Asian, European and – soon - exotic woods, pre-finished in seven colors or unfinished, smooth, wire brushed and true hand scraped styles, in widths of 3½”, 5”, 6” and 7” and lengths up to seven feet.  In addition,  FusionPlank planks can be installed in a floating system using Gentry’s all new FusionClip™ technology.
