Furniture Retailer Expands Rug Offerings

Warren, MI, Jan. 21, 2009--Michigan based furniture chain Art Van is expanding its rug business, adding larger sizes and custom colors and patterns.

While furniture sales have declines, rugs have been a growth area for the 30-store chain and the company wants to keep building on the business.

Art Van, which turns 50 this year, already sizes up to 6' by 9' but is moving to 8' by 10' pieces.

Art Van is also partnering with rug suppliers to offer more personalization in rugs that it might not be able to stock. It has typically stocked every rug on its show floors.
