Freudenberg To Restart Recycled Fiber Line

Durham, NC, Oct. 1, 2010--Freudenberg Spunweb Company, a part of the Freudenberg Nonwovens business group, said it will resume operation of its recycled polyester fiber line by the end of the year.

The company makes landscape, construction and automotive materials and products, which are used in carpet backings, among other products.

Resumption of the spunbond line, which produces Spunweb’s Lutradur and Lutradur ECO products, will take place at Freudenberg Nonwoven’s Durham, N.C. manufacturing facility.

"This new demand for Lutradur and Lutradur ECO is a positive sign that a recovery is under way, and industries across the country are beginning to rebound," said John McNabb, North American general manager of Freudenberg Nonwovens.

Lutradur and Lutradur ECO are registered trademarks for polyester industrial backing materials made from post-industrial and post-consumer recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) shredded plastic.
