Freightwaves CEO Talks Supply Chain Challenges Taxing U.S. Market

Chattanooga, TN, January 19, 2022-Craig Fuller, founder and CEO of Freightwaves, spoke to Bloomberg about the supply chain challenges facing the U.S. market.

Fuller predicts that 2022 will be a continuation of 2021 with no major reprieve in market stability or predictability.

He notes, however, that U.S. retailers did a good job handling the challenges of the market and responding to consumer demand in Q4 2021.

The current market is, in Fuller’s estimation, a have-and-have-nots market in which big box retailers and those with robust supply chains, the technology to respond to challenges and power over the carriers have done exceptionally well, while those without that infrastructure have struggled. And he notes that companies making investments in supply chain technology doing better than those who aren’t.

Two major challenges that will continue stressing the market are a shortage of capacity-which won’t resolve for a couple of years-and the truck driver shortage.
