Frederick Schmidt Honored as CFA Person of the Year

Chicago, IL, November 22, 2016—Frederick Schmidt has been named the 2016 Chicago Floor Covering Association (CFA) Person of the Year.

After spending approximately 30 years in the department store retail business, in 1999, he accepted a position as president and CEO of Century Tile and, while president, was asked to serve on the CFA board of directors. He was elected president of the board in 2005.

In addition, he served on the World Floor Covering Association board from 2003 to 2010 in various roles including vice president.

In 2013, Schmidt and two partners founded EMP3, which provides consulting services to the floorcovering industry.
