Former Mannington CEO Tony Kelly Has Died

Salem, NJ, January 9, 2024-- Tony Kelly, former president and CEO of Mannington Mills, passed away on January 3 at the age of 88.

Tony was born in Dublin, Ireland, and emigrated to the United States in 1963 to complete his master's degree and PhD at Columbia University.

Tony served as president and CEO from 1992 until his retirement in 2001. Says Zack Zehner, chairman of the Mannington board, “He successfully led the company through the Mannington Gold crisis, which required not only sound judgment and business acumen, but a commitment to associates and customers that has since become the hallmark of Mannington Mills’ culture.”

After Johnny Campbell’s death in 1997, Tony, along with Keith Campbell and then-COO Tom Davis, developed the core values that Mannington associates live by today: Care, Do the Right Thing, Work Hard/Play Hard and Control Our Own Destiny.

Keith Campbell discusses Tony's leadership at Mannington with FloorDaily and in the December 2023 Focus on Leadership.
