Former Azrock Chairman William Clark Dies at 84
San Antonio, TX, September 29, 2005 -- William Kalar Clark, former president, chairman and CEO of Azrock, died on September 25, 2005, at age 84. Clark joined Uvalde Rock Asphalt Company (Azrock) as a sales rep and had a 45-year career there. Azrock is now Tarkett’s premium commercial tile brand. Clark was a six-term president of the Resilient Floor Covering Industry; Resilient Manufacturing Board member of the American Floor Covering Association, National Floor Covering Distributors; Foundation Board Chair of the National Home Fashions League; and a board member of the International Furnishings & Design Association and the Dallas Market Center. Clark was inducted into the Western Floor Covering Association Hall of Fame in 1994. His vision led the industry to become innovative with new patterns and styles to enhance commercial interiors. Clark served on the Advisory Board of the Frost Bank, was an active member of the Kiwanis, The Texas Cavaliers, Order of the Alamo, San Antonio German Club, The Argyle, The San Antonio Country Club, Club Giraud, Pilon Club, and Revelers. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 29 at 12:00 noon at Porter Loring Chapel.
