Foreclosure Activity Beginning To Rise

Irvine, CA, Oct. 13, 2011 -- More U.S. homes are entering the foreclosure process, according to tracking firm RealtyTrac.

First-time default notices during the July to September quarter increased 14 percent compared to the second quarter.

The firm said banks are getting more aggressive about pursuing troubled homeowners.

A pickup in foreclosure activity also means a potentially faster turnaround for the U.S. housing market.
