Westfalen, Germany, Sept. 8--Artoleum, the eco-friendly resilient flooring from Forbo Flooring as received the prestigious ‘red dot’, one of the most coveted design awards in the world.
Recognizing internationally outstanding product design, the dot is awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordheim, Westfalen, Germany with manufacturers and designers of a broad range of products competing on an annual basis under eleven product groups.
Awards are made following a stringent assessment process, with judging criteria including the degree of innovation and ecological soundness. Each year 26 design experts from nine countries are chosen to form the red dot jury, guaranteeing objectivity and fairness that lends global importance to the awards.
Artoleum was awarded the red dot in the product group Architecture and the Environment as a result of its innovative design and sustainability. It will be welcomed into the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany which houses the largest permanent exhibition of contemporary design worldwide.
