Flowcrete Gets New U.S. Owner

Sandbach, Cheshire, UK, April 8, 2008--Flowcrete Group plc, the specialist flooring manufacturer, has been acquired by U.S.-based RPM International Inc, a multinational holding company with subsidiaries that manufacture and market high-performance coatings, sealants and speciality chemicals.

 

Flowcrete, which has its headquarters in Sandbach, was founded in 1982 by father and daughter team of Peter and Dawn Gibbins. Today, Flowcrete is a multi-million pound international business, with 30 offices, 12 manufacturing plants and 350 employees.

 

The company had record sales in 2007 of $87 million, an increase of 24 percent.

 

RPM International Inc. recorded sales of $3.3 billion in 2007.

 

Flowcrete will continue to be led by the current management team, with Mark Greaves continuing as managing director.

 

“We have been looking for some time at ways to raise funds for the group to give it the financial muscle to make further acquisitions,” Greaves said.
