Florida Court Issues Ruling in Unilin Patent Infringement Case

Wielsbeke, Belgium, June 28, 2017-A United States District Court in Florida, on June 22, 2017, awarded damages to Unilin and granted permanent injunctions in Unilin’s favor following a finding of infringement of patents relating to Unilin’s bevel or “v-groove” technology and Unilin’s embossed-in-register technology.

The court made the orders against Wood Floor LLC and related companies, which were further ordered to pay treble damages, costs, and attorneys’ fees due to their willful infringement.

The patents asserted against the Florida companies include Unilin’s US Patent No. 6,786,019, relating to Unilin’s bevel or “v-groove” technology, and U.S. Patent No. 7,249,445, relating to Unilin’s embossed-in-register technology, both dating from 2001.
