Flooring Company Opening New Plant in Maryland

Mtn. Lake Park, MD, Sept. 2--Authentic Woodworking Inc., will be opening a new business at Southern Garrett Business and Technology Park. The West Virginia wood products company, currently located in Davis, is moving its manufacturing operations to the Maryland Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) building, located in the park along Rt. 135 near Mtn. Lake Park. The company will bring its 12-person workforce to the new facility, with plans to add staff as its business continues to grow, according to the commissioners. "Authentic Woodworking will occupy over half of the 30,000 square-foot space, with production, administrative, and customer sales and service functions based in the new facility," said the company's plant manager Lawrence Gregory. "We manufacture custom wood products for residential and commercial use, including cabinets, moldings, flooring, and one-of-a-kind furniture items." The company will begin facility improvements this month, concurrent with upgrades to electric power and building infrastructure. Authentic Woodworking is planning to occupy the building by the end of September, with a fully operational plant by mid October. "We are pleased with our decision to relocate our business to Garrett County," said Rene Adam, president of Authentic Woodworking. "The new facility is significantly larger and more modern, with expansion room for future growth. I am very gratified with the cooperation I received from the Garrett County Economic Development staff, as well as the officials with MEDCO, and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development."
