Flooring America's Fall Convention Will Be Hel

Manchester, NH, July 25--Flooring America announced it will hold its second convention of 2003 on September 8-12 at the Doral Eaglewood Resort in Chicago. Previous fall meetings for members have been conducted on a smaller scale at the regional conference level. "A second convention is invaluable, considering our frequent new initiatives and rapidly growing membership," said Evan Hackel, President of Flooring America. "Increased personal communication with our members is especially important now as we are finalizing our strategy to establish a brand identity." Initiatives to be introduced at the convention include a new 5-Year plan; the rollout of Home Emagination, a computerized design kiosk for customers; a builder products display and quick-ship program; a public relations program for members; new sheet vinyl displays from Armstrong and Mannington; and the establishment of a members' communications network to exchange ideas and examine issues between local members. The convention, which will continue the "We Can Make It Happen" theme introduced at Flooring America's April convention in Dallas, will be held in two sessions. The first session will be held Monday and Tuesday, September 8 and 9, for Northeast, Southeast, Mid-South, and New England members. The second session will be held Thursday and Friday, September 11 and 12, for Northwest, Southwest, Central, and Midwest members. Wednesday, September 10, will be a common day allowing members from both sessions to come together for networking and local activities.
