Flooring America Sales Training Convention Improve

Manchester, NH, March 3--The Flooring America and Flooring Canada first-ever Sales Professional Convention gave member sales teams a better understanding of the important role they play in delivering the brand message and creating a positive experience for their customers. In an effort to streamline the selling process, Flooring America and Flooring Canada presented a progressive sales certification system to improve selling techniques. The format also provided an in-depth understanding of the brand message, so sales professionals can more effectively communicate company products and service benefits as the front-line to the consumer. Coinciding with the general convention, nearly one hundred sales professionals attended the intensive, two-day Sales Professional Convention on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26. They joined the main convention for Friday’s General Session and Saturday’s evening event with Lou Holtz. Top company trainers educated sales professionals on profitability, productivity, and Flooring America’s products and services through a comprehensive schedule of courses, speaker sessions, and vendor presentations. Speaker highlights included Floor Covering News’ Warren Tyler and Kelly Kramer and Flooring America’s Jim Cain. "First and foremost, the new sales track will dramatically improve sales skills, and in turn, better customer service," said Sally Kelly, vice president of communications. "We also wanted to communicate the Flooring America brand message directly to every sales person. Quite a few of them had never attended one of our conventions, and now know they belong to a huge network and are part of something bigger than just their store." Flooring America developed and introduced a Certified Sales Professional Kit, which is a structured program designed to provide sales managers and professionals with the right tools and knowledge to maximize sales. The kit includes: manager guidelines explaining the features and benefits of the program; a planner and journal to help sales professionals organize their path to certification; a key knowledge CD with six interactive modules from the Online University; and an Essential Pursuit Game to test sales professionals on product and sales comprehension. To become certified, sales professionals must complete a Flooring America Online University test by July 1, 2005. In addition, Sales.net, an extension of the Flooring America/Flooring Canada member website, FAMembers.net, was unveiled. The site, devoted to educating and updating sales professionals, contains hundreds of hours of streaming audio and video, quarterly presentations from regional managers, a discussion area, and customizable calendars. Sales.net will also include an incentive section, featuring a sales professional of the month and a sales team of the month.
