FloorExpo Adds New Members

Marietta, GA, January 19, 2007--Several large, regional flooring contractors have made their first move of the New Year a move to join FloorExpo. Home Solutions, the builder-focused division of FloorExpo, has added two Florida-based companies: Spraggins Builder Services, Inc., and Avalon Flooring, LLC. MultiFamily Solutions (MFS), the FloorExpo group targeting the apartment segment, has also added some large players to their group of high-caliber flooring contractors who service the apartment community. Recent additions to that group include Mike's Carpet and Contract Carpet Corp. Michael Tremain, President and CEO of Spraggins Builder Services, discussed why the company aligned with Home Solutions. "As a rapidly growing builders services company focused on major production home builders, we believe that FloorExpo and its 'best of class' member network will provide us with greater buying power and invaluable operational insights that will elevate our business to the next level. We are very excited about leveraging the tools and the know how of FloorExpo." Brad Fulkerson, owner of Avalon Flooring in Sarasota/Bradenton is another new Home Solutions member. "The builder business is a very demanding space right now. Our customers, suppliers, and competitors are all becoming extremely large and powerful. We need to be part of an organization that gives us the tools to compete in the changing environment. I really studied this and it was clear that Home Solutions was the only answer for us. We are very pleased about our new association with FloorExpo." Another new member is Sandy Schuman, COO of Contract Carpet Corp., with four locations in Southern California. She said, "We love what the group is doing for us. It fits very nicely with our goals for our business. Project MultiFacet, the best practices program especially for multi-family contractors, is a very powerful tool. Learning the most successful practices of the best in our arena will be a definite money maker for us. I am also looking forward to putting my staff on the MFS on-line training system. This will be a key to accelerating employee productivity." Jacob Manaster, Contract Carpet Corporation's newly appointed CEO, will be extremely involved in all facets of this partnership. Jake, whose career is from outside the flooring industry, will be responsible for Contract's Multi-Family division. "We are happy and proud to have joined the group and look forward to many years of mutual benefit." Jacob is a respected businessperson and attorney originally coming out of the prestigious boutique law firm Weissmann, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman and Silverman LLP in Beverly Hills, California. Mike Schreiber, owner of Mike's Carpet, commented on his decision to join the MultiFamily Solutions group, "We have become one of the largest apartment specialists in the country. We have operations covering much of the East Coast, with locations in 5 states. I was attracted to MFS for their training offering and their national account development. I expect to grow my business by adding new customers that they help us acquire. There is no one else driving business like that in this segment." "Also, I can already see that networking among my peers is going to be a win for me personally, and for my management team. Some of my key guys attended a regional member meeting in December and came away with new ideas, and they were fired up to implement them." "One of the things I really like is that the MFS core product collection is designed to appeal to the apartment customer. It is the only exclusive apartment product program that I know of. We will make the collection our 'go to' items. I also like that MFS aggressively supports the collection through trade show and national print advertising in UNITS and MultiFamily Executive magazines."
