Firm Says It Will Distribute First FSC Laminate

Milwaukee, WI, April 28, 2009-Timber Holdings International said it has a partnership with Meister of Germany to be the U.S. distributor of the first Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified laminate flooring line for the U.S.

The company said the new flooring is designed for both commercial and residential buildings, and complies with LEED requirements set forth by the USGBC for green buildings.

The laminate, which includes cork backed and non cork backed products, is produced using the newly-developed direct printing technology, so there is no need to use the melamine paper used on typical laminate flooring.

The company said the products comply with the LEED requirements for rapidly renewable materials for the cork backed product (17% by volume), certified wood, low emitting products laminate and composite wood, and recycled content.
