Firm Develops Robot To Clean Hard Surface Floor
Las Vegas, NV, Jan. 11, 2010--Evolution Robotics has developed a robot to automatically clean hardwood or tile floors.
The product, called the Mint Cleaner, on display at the Consumer Electronics Show, automatically dusts or wet mops hard-surface floors using products like Swiffer.
The robot can sense everything in the room, so if furniture moves or there are kids or pets there, it can adjust itself
The company, based in Pasadena, Calif., said the robots are designed to get into room corners and edges and under furniture or baseboards. They use a light sensor feedback system to let Mint clean around obstacles and avoid missing spots.
Mint robots can operate for three to four hours on a single charge.
