Fire Destroys Abu Dhabi Carpet Factory

Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, Sept. 3, 2008--A massive fire gutted a paper and carpet factory  in Abu Dhabi on Saturday evening, the UAE daily Gulf News reported on Sunday.

Over nine fire fighting units, military and rescue officials called out to control the blaze, the paper said.

The factory is located in the industrial area in Sanayya, close to Al-Jaber Establishment, it added.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

There were no casualties, a rescue department official told the paper.
