FieldTurf Tarkett Says It Set Production Record

Dalton, GA, May 15, 2008--FieldTurf Tarkett said it recently set a world record for the amount of synthetic turf produced in one week.

The equivalent of three full sized fields per day over 7 days,  or 1.6 million square feet of FieldTurf, was produced by FieldTurf's manufacturing plant in Dalton during a one week span in April.  FieldTurf's plant is expected to hit the 2 million square feet per week milestone this summer.

The 110,000 square foot facility has over 35 employees and features almost a dozen tufting machines with a capacity to produce hundreds of thousands of square feet of turf each day. FieldTurf, at full capacity, has the capability to supply approximately 2,500 fields per year, which is the equivalent to triple the entire yearly North American demand for artificial turf fields.
