FieldTurf Tarkett Moving Headquarters to Georgia

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Oct. 3, 2008--FieldTurf Tarkett is relocating its corporate headquarters from Montreal to Peachtree City, Ga.

The company, which bills itself as “the world leader in sports surfacing” will be located in the former Husky building in the Southpark area of the Peachtree City industrial park.

The company has a manufacturing facility in Dalton, Ga. and the headquarters will be moving from Montreal, where the company will maintain an office presence, company officials said.

Peachtree City residents don’t have to go far to spot FieldTurf in action, as it is the playing surface at the Georgia Dome. It’s also used on the practice fields for the University of Georgia football team.

Matt Forshee of the Fayette County Development Authority said it’s unknown how many staffers will be coming to the Peachtree City location as the company is finalizing those details. The personnel locating to Peachtree City have executive-level positions, the company said.

The plant in Dalton has 35 employees and can produce 219 million square feet of the turf, enough for just under 3,000 fields, a year.
