FieldTurf, Tarkett Merger Completed

Montreal, Canada, October 5--FieldTurf and Tarkett Sports, two giants in the sports surfacing industry, jointly announced that they have successfully completed their long awaited merger. The talks began early this year and have resulted in the pairing of two successful entities, each with its own unique products and expertise. Tarkett has manufacturing plants around the globe. Their brands include Prestige, the European market leader in infilled turf, as well as flooring, track, tennis and indoor products manufactured from a variety of materials, including PVC, wood, linoleum, polyurethane and textiles. FieldTurf is the world leader in the new generation of infilled artificial turf systems. Highly recognized for its patented products and installation technologies, FieldTurf is the choice of professional sports and is currently installed in more than 950 high profile stadiums, universities, schools and parks worldwide. "The FieldTurf brand and intellectual property are highly regarded worldwide as the premiere infilled turf product," said Regis de Boissieu, president of the Commercial and Sport division of the Tarkett Group. "Their engineering and patents are a valuable asset and will allow us to strengthen our worldwide market share of turf products and grow our range of indoor and tennis products in North America." In order to serve customers worldwide, this merger is achieved through the creation of two new entities. FieldTurf, based in Canada, will operate in North America, South America and a part of Asia. Tarkett Sports, based in France, will operate in Europe, Middle East and part of Asia.
