FieldTurf Tarkett and Atlas Enter Partnership
Montreal, Quebec, January 29, 2007--FieldTurf Tarkett and Atlas Track & Tennis said they have formed an alliance in the track surfacing industry. FieldTurf Tarkett CEO John Gilman and Atlas CEO George Fisher jointly announced the partnership. The track surfacing products that will be marketed by the two companies will be known as Atlas Resisport. For FieldTurf Tarkett, the world leader in sports surfacing with 1900 installations in more than 40 countries, this alliance allows the company to further expand and grow its burgeoning track-and-field business. Widely recognized for their top-of-the-line surfaces in football and baseball, FieldTurf Tarkett has also been rapidly expanding its high-quality basketball and track products. Atlas Track & Tennis is the United States' pacesetter in the manufacturing and installation of running tracks. Under this new arrangement, Atlas will continue to do a significant amount of business in the western U.S. while FieldTurf Tarkett concentrates on track surfacing in the eastern United States. To date, Atlas has installed over a thousand tracks in both North and South America. "This strategic alliance will create a great situation for both FieldTurf Tarkett and Atlas," said Gilman. "We at FieldTurf Tarkett have been very pleased with the development of our highly-regarded track surfacing product. Atlas has been in the track business for over a quarter of a century, and I'm confident that we will form a dynamic team that will provide its customers with the finest track surfaces in the world." "Atlas is excited about teaming with FieldTurf Tarkett so we may provide the finest quality running surfaces nationwide," said Fisher. "Atlas is known as the 'Contractor of Choice' for the construction of synthetic running tracks and tennis courts. Atlas provides the highest quality of workmanship, along with the most reliable products and the most dependable service in the industry." The Atlas Resisport product will provide the only third-party insured warranty in the track surfacing industry. FieldTurf Tarkett is already the only provider of third-party insured warranties for its football fields. "We have proven that our customer service and customer protection is unparalleled in this industry," continued Gilman. "Along with our partners at Atlas, we will once again be putting the customer first by standing behind our product in a way that none of our competitors are willing to do."
