FieldTurf, Morton Form Turf Fiber Joint Venture

Montreal, Canada, Dec. 22, 2010 -- FieldTurf and Morton Extrusionstechnik said they have formed a joint venture to develop and produce innovative artificial turf fiber technology.

The Germany-based manufacturing plant produces fibers that have propelled the industry into the new age of artificial turf, the companies said.

FieldTurf has developed technology that produces fiber with superior performance characteristics, FieldTurf said.

The companies said they have combined the best in polymer technology with the strongest UV inhibitors and a state-of-the-art extrusion process. They said they can produce a fiber that will resist splitting and reduce degradation caused by the sun’s ultraviolet rays better than any other fiber.
