Fewer Homes Enter Foreclosure in April

Irvine, CA, May 17, 2012 -- Fewer properties entered into the foreclosure process in April, and banks took back fewer properties, according to tracking firm RealtyTrac.

The number of U.S. homes taken back by lenders in April declined 7% from March, the third consecutive monthly decline, RealtyTrac Inc. said.

Home repossessions fell 26% versus April last year.

The number of homes entering foreclosure also declined, falling 4% from March and 2% from April 2011.
