Feltex Closing New Zealand Plant Today

Feilding, New Zealand, April 4, 2008--Workers in one of New Zealand's largest carpet factories are clocking out for the last time on Friday.

Feltex Carpets announced in early March it would be closing its Feilding factory, leaving 81 staff without a job.

Feltex says it's hoping to redeploy some staff at its other plants.

The company is also shutting down its Foxton plant in August at a cost of over 80 jobs
