Fed Official Still Sees Economy in Recovery
Helsinki, Finland, June 6, 2011 -- A top Fed official said that despite a poor jobs report on Friday that he hasn't changed his medium-term view that the economy is in a gradual recovery.
Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Charles Plosser said it was possible the Fed could tighten policy before the end of the year.
"Certainly, the employment numbers that came out in the United States on Friday were disappointing... But I'm not seeing anything fundamental has changed in my view of the medium term outlook," he said after a conference in Helsinki.
