Chicago, IL, October 18--The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) finished its two day mid-year meeting here as an enthusiastic board of directors celebrated the organization’s accomplishments for the past year and made plans for the future.
Highlights of this weekend’s committee meetings included the Floor Covering Installation Training (FIT) committee’s completion of the FIT Resilient Flooring program, which will be available in November; and the Long Range Planning committee’s plan to grow the organization’s membership over the next five years.
Perhaps the most talked about committee was the Convention Committee, which finalized plans for the annual FCICA Convention,
"Catch the Wave of Opportunity," a four day educational and networking event to be held March 9-12 in Puerto Rico.
On concluding the meeting, Bill Dietrich of New York urged the Board of Directors to "spread the word" about FCICA saying, "The value of our association is in the shared experience and knowledge of our members who are generous with that knowledge and more than willing to share it with their fellow contractors." He continued, "Obviously there is a cost of time and money to participate in FCICA. But the benefits to your business, and to you as professionals, are priceless."
