Faus Plans $20M Expansion at Calhoun Plant

Calhoun, GA, August 21, 2007--Faus Group plans to spend $20 million to expand its laminate flooring plant in Calhoun.

Faus will add a second milling line in January that will increase its milling production up to 100 million square feet per year.  Also, four more presses will be added next year that will enhance its production capabilities.

“We all know that the flooring industry is presently going through a difficult economic situation, however, we are making this additional $20 million investment because we are convinced it will maximize our efficiency in the manufacturing of high-end laminate flooring, as well as positively strengthen the company’s partnerships with key customers in the U.S. market,” said Juan B. Flores, president of Faus Group, Inc.

Faus said the expansion will save the company money by bringing manufacturing expertise from Europe to Calhoun that will help increase manufacturing capacity. The added capacity should help lower costs for high-end flooring.

The company began U.S. operations in July 2006 after purchasing a 78-acre, 400,000 square feet facility in Calhoun, Georgia.
