Factory Production Higher in October

Washington, DC, Nov. 16, 2010 -- Although industrial production was flat overall in October, factory activity strengthened, according to a Federal Reserve report Tuesday.

Factory production rose 0.5% after a 0.2% gain in September. This is the strongest increase in three months.

The output of construction supplies rose 0.2% in October after a 0.4% decline.
