Factory Orders Rose for Second Consecutive Month in January

Washington, DC, March 6, 2017-- New orders for U.S.-made goods rose 1.2% in January, according to the Commerce Department.

This is the second straight monthly increase, following December’s 1.3% jump, and is a 5.5% increase over January 2016.

Total shipments of manufactured goods rose 0.2% after surging 2.5% in December.
