Factory Orders Decline in October

Washington, DC, Dec. 5, 2013 -- U.S. factory orders in October declined on lower demand for aircraft and business cutbacks on computers, according to the Commerce Department.

Factory orders dropped 0.9% in October, the Commerce Department said. That followed a 1.8% increase in September.

But core capital goods dropped 0.6%, the second straight decline.

The report contradicts other reports that show manufacturing has been growing recently.
