Exports Help UK's Halstead Grow Sales

London, England, April 1, 2011 -- Flooring manufacturer James Halstead, based in Radcliffe, said it has achieved record levels of growth, spurred by an increase in export business.

The company benefited from a 9% pre-tax profits during the six months up to Dec. 31.

Sales at the flooring firm exceeded $160 million for the first time for an interim period, climbing by 15% to reach $170 million.

During this half-year period James Halstead supplied flooring to South African Railways as well as hospitals in Libya and Chicago.

The company said it had particularly strong growth in Australia, Germany and North America as overseas revenue increased by 23%. Meanwhile, sales in Britain also rose by 3.5%.
