Existing Home Sales Decline in March

Washington, DC, April 19, 2012 -– Home resales fell 2.6% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.48 million in March, according to the National Association of Realtors.

A mild winter may have prompted earlier sales than usual, essentially stealing sales from March.

January and February made up the best winter for sales in five years.

First-time buyers rose to 33% of all purchases last month.
