Exhibit Space For Surfaces 04 80% Sold Out

Dallas, July 30--Next year’s Surfaces, which takes place January 28-30 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, is already 80% sold out. In fact, almost 10% more exhibiting companies are currently on board for the event than at this time last year. Many returning exhibitors have increased the size of their exhibit booth, resulting in an additional 30,000 square feet of exhibit space over 2003. Surfaces, the industry’s largest and most important event, is the place where more than 40,000 floor covering professionals shop 500,000-plus net square feet of exhibit space, where fashion, innovation and variety converge and the industry prepares for what consumers will want in the coming year. “As we begin preparing for Surfaces 2004, we will make an all-out effort to create the most dynamic show ever,” says Michelle Troop, Senior Show Director, Surfaces. “We are committed to doing everything possible to make Surfaces 2004 the ‘must-attend’ event for floor covering professionals.” Recent feedback from both exhibitors and attendees, as well as the buzz in the air, confirm that industry support for Surfaces is unwavering. Don Finkell, President/CEO, Anderson Hardwoods, says, “While regional markets fulfill a need, they usually focus on a few select lines and cannot deliver a marketplace where retailers can be educated and shop and compare offerings from hundreds of industry manufacturers at one time.” “We understand that retailers’ time is both valuable and limited,” adds Kim Holm, President, Residential Division, Mannington Mills. “We will be at Surfaces in a big way and promise that attendees won’t be disappointed with Mannington’s new products and programs.” “There are essentially two types of flooring resellers: those that see themselves as selling agents for the mills and those that perceive themselves to be purchasing agents for their clients,” says D. Christopher Davis, CEO, World Floor Covering Association (WFCA). “The latter group needs to know about the latest products, most up-to-date industry intelligence and the best educational sessions they can find. These are people that are looking for that edge over their competitors. These are the kinds of people who will attend the shopping MEGA CENTER that is Surfaces—and we’re committed to their success.” With such a strong manufacturer presence—from companies like Beaulieu, Burlington Rug, Dal-Tile, Domco, DuPont, Formica, Honeywell, Johnsonite, Mannington Mills, Milliken, Pergo and many others—retailers will find the options available at the show as plentiful as ever. “Being able to see new products and services is extremely valuable to my business,” says Steve Fitzgerald, President, CC Carpets. “I can count on going to Surfaces to find all the new products and services I need to keep my stores filled with the latest products my customers will be looking for.”
