Europe Passes Lacey-Like Legislation
Paris, France, July 28, 2010--New European legislation to reduce illegal logging will include flooring materials.
The legislation aims to place a due diligence requirement on importers
to ensure that the wood products they buy from overseas were felled in
accordance with the laws of their country of origin.
Covered in the legislation are individual wooden tiles for use in parquet flooring, unassembled parquet flooring friezes and strips, and tongue and groove timber.
Also covered are sheets intended for veneering and plywood.
