Washington, DC, October 6, 2023-Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 336,000 in September, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.8%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. 

Job gains occurred in leisure and hospitality; government; healthcare; professional, scientific, and technical services; and social assistance.
