Eight Extractors Join SOA Family

Dalton, GA, May 29, 2007--The Carpet & Rug Institute announced the awarding of the CRI Seal of Approval to eight to carpet cleaning extractors.    Another US Products portable extractor received the seal certifying the product meet the highest of performance standards by earning Gold level status. Seven other extractors earned bronze level certification.   The Solus 310 extractor, manufactured by US Products of Coeur d'Alene, ID., earned the highest level in soil removal. Kent-Euroclean's Klenzor 16, Clarke's Clean Track 16, Clean Track 18, Clean Track 18 Wash and Rinse, Steamway's 4100 LX Mastematic, 4100 Galaxy and the Advance Aquaclean 16ST each earned certification at the bronze level. Each machine can now assure customers that their extractors removes stains and soil from carpet without damaging the carpet pile or causing resoiling problems at the highest of levels.   Advance and Kent-Euroclean are both headquartered in Plymouth, MN, while Clarke is located in Springdale, AR., and Steamway is headquartered in Denver, CO.   The CRI Seal of Approval program tests the effectiveness of carpet cleaning equipment and certifies deep cleaning extractors that effectively remove soil without damage to the carpet. Not all extractors are good enough to earn this distinction; the blue and green seal helps customers recognize they are buying quality products.   An independent laboratory administers the CRI Seal of Approval testing for extractors. To quality for the Seal, extractors must meet stringent standards in all three-test categories:  Amount of soil removed from the carpet Amount of residual moisture removed from the carpet from a wet cleaning process Impact of the equipment on carpet fibers and appearance In addition, soil removal efficiency is rated on three levels. Extractors that exceed average soil removal receive a Bronze Seal rating. Those achieving higher soil removal receive a Silver rating and those receiving the highest level of measurable soil removal are awarded a Gold level Seal of Approval. A total of 55 extractors have earned SOA certification.
