E-Commerce Sales Increased by 4.8% in Q2

Washington, DC, August 17, 2017-The Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce announced today that the estimate of U.S. retail e-commerce sales for the second quarter of 2017 was $111.5 billion, an increase of 4.8% from the first quarter of 2017.

Total retail sales for the second quarter of 2017 were estimated at $1,256.2 billion, an increase of 0.5% from the first quarter of 2017. The second quarter 2017 e-commerce estimate increased 16.2% from the second quarter of 2016 while total retail sales increased 4.1% in the same period. E-commerce sales in the second quarter of 2017 accounted for 8.9% of total sales.
