Durable Goods Orders Rise in June

Washington, DC, July 25, 2013 -- Durable goods order rose in June because of higher aircraft demand as orders for other goods were flat.

Total orders for durable goods rose 4.2% to a seasonally adjusted $244.5 billion in June from the prior month, the Commerce Department said.

Excluding transportation, June durable-goods orders were unchanged at $157.42 billion. The report also showed that business investment slowed.
