DuPont Won't Face Justice Department Charges

Wilmington, DL, October15, 2007--DuPont was informed by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) that it had completed its review "of information made available to us relevant to DuPont's research into and use of perfluorooctanoic acid at its Washington Works facility and we will not be pursuing criminal charges at this time."

According to Stacey J. Mobley, DuPont senior vice president and general counsel, "We were fully responsive to the DOJ's investigation. Their decision supports our position that DuPont acted responsibly in this matter.”

On May 17, 2005, DuPont was served with a grand jury subpoena from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The subpoena, which was served by the Environmental Crimes Section of the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, called for production of documents related to perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its salts, C-8, ammonium perfluorooctanoate, and FC-143.
