DuPont Textiles Debuts New Auto Carpet Line

Detroit, MI, May 14-- DuPont Textiles & Interiors (DTI) unveiled its 2003 DuPont Altara style collection today at the Auto Interiors Show in Detroit, Michigan. Created specifically for the transportation industry, Altara performance fibers are designed to stimulate creative flooring ideas for original equipment manufacturers (OEM), while meeting the highest performance standards. The announcement of the new collection is marked by the launch of the official DuPont Altara website. "DTI has unique insight into the automotive industry, ranging from the design, technical and production needs of OEMs to rapidly evolving consumer trends," said Robert Berrier, DuPont Transportation Flooring business manager, North America. "Our focus with the second generation Altara style collection is to leverage this insight to allow OEMs to convey design innovation and leadership, while developing automotive flooring products that anticipate consumers' needs and preferences." The new collection is grouped by design preferences and lifestyle needs: rugged, techno, dimensional and tailored. The rugged category is a series of product styles designed to resist the conditions in all rugged and luxuriously rugged vehicles; techno re-invents the look of the floor, inspired by digital interface and connectivity; dimensional is a textural exploration that lends dimension and surface texture under foot; and tailored represents structured elegance and classic simplicity.
