Dubai World Trade Center to Host Carpet Oasis

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, December 29, 2005--During the Dubai Shopping Festival, the Dubai World Trade Center will host two of the most distinctive events on the DSF 2006 events calendar. Carpet Oasis is the biggest carpet market in the region. Bringing together artisans from Iran, Turkey, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, among others, on one singular platform, the event shall showcase over 100,000 exquisite hand-woven carpets along with handmade artifacts. The other prime DWTC attraction during DSF 2006 will be the Plastic Arts exhibition, which will bring together a collection of the best plastic art paintings from the world over, reflecting the many evolutionary stages this art form has undergone. Speaking on the DWTC’s participation in DSF for the 11th year, Abdulla Qassem, General Manager Venue Management, Dubai World Trade Center, said, “It has been our pleasure to be one of the key sponsors in the festival which has accomplished great success since the first year at 1996, and played an essential role in activating many economic sectors, hospitality services sector such as restaurants and hotels and the tourism sector such as traveling agencies.” Speaking on the continued relation DWTC shares with the DSF, Abdulla Qassem said: “The Dubai World Trade Center has a great reputation as one of the most important centers for conferences, meetings and exhibitions, with other utilities such as house renting offices, parks and clubs besides the public services the center offers car rental agencies, real estate companies, restaurants, cafés, mail offices and many other facilities.
